A study investigating the possible advantages of a brief tape recorded battery of cognitive tests as a reliable, valid, and efficient screening measure in the identification and early detection of cognitive impairment and dementia in patients. The Audio- Recorded Cognitive Screen (ARCS) is a 30 minute tape-recorded questionnaire. As a participant in this study you will be asked to wear headphones, listen to instructions on a tape recorder, and to write your responses to the questions asked on audio tape in a booklet, which will be provided for you.
- Diagnosis of Probable AD or MCI
- Age 75 or Older
- Fluent in English
- MMSE 17 or greater
- Completion of Neuropsychological testing and medical Evaluation within a year of ARCS
